The makers
Named, and from somewhere
Nothing goes on a wall here without a person attached to it. Every piece carries the maker’s name, the town, the year, the material and the method, and how many exist. The wall label and the website say the same words.
This page is the roster. It is also the source for every wall label, hang tag, caption and product page on all three sites, which is why it is a file rather than a paragraph.
It is not finished. What is here is here because it is confirmed.
No names yet. The first confirmed maker goes here, and this page grows one person at a time rather than launching with a list nobody has spoken to.
What a label says
The same five lines, in the same order, on the wall and on the web. No marketing copy and no adjective we would not say out loud.
Work carrying Duke’s name is ours, and its label says so instead. We never put the two side by side in a way that lets them be confused.
If you make things here
We are looking for island makers whose work can carry a five-line label: your name, the town, the year, what it is made from and how, and how many you made. If that describes what you do, write to us with three photographs and the town you work in.
